Lisbon Architecture Triennale
12 Sep – 15 Dec 2013

Close, Closer is a series of exhibitions and public programmes which aims to challenge and question the role of the architect in contemporary society. We are initiating a discussion around this fast-changing landscape and your input is critical. How can we get closer? It's over to you!

  • About

The competition invited university students of all nationalities and disciplines to propose an intervention – programmatically or physically - in the Triennale’s headquarters, the 18th century Sinel de Cordes Palace, based on the thematics of the third edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale, Close, Closer. The students were required to examine the expanded field of contemporary architecture - that is the issues, narratives and structure around building, but not necessarily engaged in construction - and to closely consider what it means to exhibit architecture today.

As part of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale theme, Close, Closer, colectivo inventado want to communicate how dreams are not mere utopias, but a way to imagine more than what the present political-economical situation persists in showing us. Colectivo inventado want to capture people’s dreams which will be then transformed into images and projected in an installation at the Sinel de Cordes Palace.
